Position: Full time qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire.

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Surveyor to work as part of a small team delivering commercial consultancy advice on a wide range of professional matters to a diverse and expanding portfolio of clients.

The position will include landlord and tenant, valuation & instructions and development work, and supporting the management of our expanding commercial portfolio.

A wide and varied role covering Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset.

Working within Woolley & Wallis’ highly regarded Farm & Rural and Commercial teams in Salisbury, the successful candidate will provide support, along with another administrator, to fee earners within the Farm & Rural and Commercial teams based at our Salisbury office.

Job description

The anticipated workload will be varied but will include the following (where necessary on the job training will be provided):-

o    First point of contact with clients, landlords, tenants, other professionals, contractors, suppliers and the general public, primarily over the telephone but also face to face.  Responding to and, where applicable, dealing with general enquiries.
o    Provide administrative support to allocated fee earner(s) and share overall administrative workload for department when workload permits.
o    Management of diaries, making arrangements for meetings and property viewings.
o    Administration of email accounts through Microsoft Outlook.
o    Maintenance and implementation of property management schedules in conjunction with fee earners.
o    Audio and copy typing of all manner of letters, emails, valuations, reports, accounts and other documents using both blank Word documents and existing templates.
o    Production of spreadsheets and the compilation and presentation of figures.
o    Preparation of sale particulars and marketing material using standard templates.
o    Incorporating schedules of photographs into reports.
o    General research, including using the Internet.
o    Organising mail merges.
o    Photocopying and filing.
o    Maintaining databases and diary reminders.
o    Proficient use of specialist estate agency and property management software.
o    Preparation of plans for use in reports, tenancy agreements and sale particulars using a specialist mapping software.
o    Liaison with accounts department to arrange for the payment of bills incurred by landlords, the collection of rents and the preparation of landlord’s statements.
o    Organising straightforward property repairs and managing contractors.
o    Placing adverts in local, national and specialist publications.
o    Liaison with other members of staff.
o    Attending to post.
o    Ensuring, in conjunction with other colleagues, the smooth running of the Department.
o    Other miscellaneous support work.

Key attributes/skills

Whilst on the job training will be provided, the following key attributes/skills are considered to be important:-

o    A calm but outgoing personality;
o    A responsible, optimistic attitude;
o    A team player;
o    An ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer;
o    Good attention to detail, plus an ability to spell and add up;
o    An ability to use own initiative and to organise; and
o    A willingness and ability to learn new skills.

Holiday entitlement

25 working days plus bank holidays.  After two years’ continuous service the right to take up to a further 5 days as unpaid leave.

Starting salary

Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Automatic enrolment to a group pension scheme in which the partnership will match the employees’ pension contributions up to a maximum of 3% of the basic salary (can opt out).

After completing the probationary period of the first three months of employment, the successful applicant will also automatically join personal accident and group life insurance schemes.
